Tattoos
Q: Can I get a tattoo under the age of 18?
A: Unfortunately, it is NO. In the State of Texas, it is illegal to tattoo a minor even with parental consent. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: While we do prefer appointments to be made or submit an online tattoo consultation request. We do accept walk-in tattoo consultations and depending on artist’s availability, the artist will try to accommodate for smaller tattoos. Appointments are highly recommended for larger pieces and may need to be scheduled out several weeks in advance depending on the complexity of the design. We do NOT book appointments by phone since each artist’s schedule will vary.
Q: How much will my tattoo cost?
A: Tattoo pricing depends on the size, placement and how much detail your design consists of. Our artists are providing you with a one-of-a-kind tattoo, so we go by an hourly rate of $150-200 an hour (e.g. at $150/hour, 2hrs = $300). Overall, the actual tattooing time will determine the final pricing. There is always a chance that it can take longer than the artist had anticipated. At best, the artist will give you a rough estimate beforehand. The actual session time will be also easier to determine once the session actually start.
If you are looking into having a large piece done, keep in mind that it may not be finished in just one long (day) session. The artist may recommend breaking it down into multiple sessions. The tattoo will be better in the long run with this process. The ink will heal and age the same with one session or multiple sessions. It is the same hourly rate for the large pieces, $150-200 an hour. You can either pay part of it ahead of time if you are able to do so but otherwise, payment is applied at the end of each session. Deposits are required for larger pieces requiring draw time. The deposit will come off the final price of your tattoo.
We are willing to work with you to stay within a particular budget if you let us know ahead of time, especially during the consultation. This way the artist can try to gauge how long a particular design will take to tattoo. Again, please keep in mind, the tattoo may take longer than initial consultation.
Q: Do you do cover-ups?
Not all cover-ups are possible, but we will always try to work with you. Fill out an online consultation request with the photo of the existing tattoo and we will go from there. The artist may suggest for some laser removal if it is dark to cover up.
Q: How do I care for my tattoo?
Healing time will vary with each person and depending on the complexity of the tattoo. Your artist will wrap the tattoo after the session. When you get home, remove the wrap and clean the tattoo with unscented anti-bacterial mild soap and afterwards, allow to dry. Do not cover or put on any on it. Keep the area and tattoo clean and dry for 3-4 days. After 3-4 days, apply any water-based unscented lotion on, twice a day.
If your artist uses Saniderm, best to leave the Saniderm on 3-5 days and then remove slowly. Apply non-scented lotion 2-3 times a day until the tattoo finishes peeling.
Do not swim, submerge in water or expose the tattoo to sunlight until the healing process is completed.
PIERCINGS
Q: How old do I have to be to get a piercing?
A: Minimum age for lobe piercings is 6 years. All other piercings have higher age limits that can be found through our online scheduler. 💎 (Click on the diamond to go the scheduling page)
Q: What documents are needed for a minor to be pierced?
A: We require a photo ID for BOTH the minor and parent/guardian AND the minor’s birth certificate. For minors without a permit or license we accept passports, government identification cards, school IDs, or rec-center passes. Only a parent or legal guardian (with proof of guardianship or birth certificate with parent’s name shown) may sign for a minor. NO EXCEPTIONS. (Acceptable forms of documentation can be found under each appointment type when you book.)
Q: How much do piercings cost?
A: Our piercings start at $40 depending on which piercing you’re interested in. All piercing costs will be shown as you book. Jewelry is a separate cost, starting at $37.50 per stud and $52.50 per barbell.
Q: What type of jewelry do you use?
A: We only pierce with implant-grade titanium ASTM F-136 to minimize the risk of irritation. These metals are nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Many of our piercings use hollow labret posts with interchangeable decorative toppers (no L-bends or corkscrews for noses so you don’t have to worry about them falling out easily).
For those needing a fancier option, we do offer a variety of solid 14K gold (not plated) tops. These jewelry top options start at $85. Please note: if you don’t see a design you like at our shop, let us know and the piercer can work with you on a custom order from our many approved vendors.
Q: Can I be pierced with my own jewelry?
A: Unfortunately, it is NO. Most store bought jewelry is not the proper gauge or length needed for a new piercing. We cannot guarantee the type of metal used either. We are happy to help you change your piercings out to your personal jewelry once the initial healing time is done.
Please be aware that the piercer will not install jewelry that is externally threaded, made of mystery metal, or has been purchased through Amazon, Claire’s, or any other companies that doesn’t make safe (piercing) jewelry, even after it is healed.
Q: Will the piercer go over aftercare after my piercing?
A: With all piercings, the piercer will go over the aftercare with you. There is also a brochure with the aftercare guide. But, at any time during the healing time should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us and we can help or answer them. There is always an option to setup an problem visit just for the piercer to take a look. 💎
Q: I have a bump near my piercing. What should I do?
A: Do not remove your jewelry. The bump is most likely temporary and we are happy to help you troubleshoot. Contact one of piercers by scheduling a problem visit for assistance. 💎
